When and how did you get your start in the industry? (year, where, etc..,) 

 In 2002 I became a shampoo girl in laplata. In 2004  I started at Graham Webb

Why did you choose the beauty industry? 

Because it’s a fun, energetic environment, where you are constantly doing something different everyday. 

What do you love about working at The Hair Company? 

I love that we are family, and there is literally no other salon like us..

Tell us about you… Spouse/Significant other, Kids, Family, Pets, etc.., 

My husband Bill. And my 4 crazy kiddos, Avery, Parker, Tegan, and Dexter

What do you like to do on your days off?

Run errands and my kids everywhere for their sports. Avery is a competitive gymnast, that takes a huge amount of my time. Parker is my swimmer and I keep him in tutoring for his learning disability. Tegan is finding her sport. And Dexter is along for the ride.

 I love color correction. I love the challenge and the science behind it. 

Products you can't live without.....

Wax blast because it gives that messy on purpose look. Color fanatic because it’s EVERYTHING and preps the hair. And Tripple Take hairspray because it’s like magical pixie dust, strong hold, but you can still put your fingers through your hair.

What's the most inspiring part of your job?

Changing peoples lives, no matter how significant or not.

If I weren't so damn good at my job, I'd probably be......... A science teacher, I love challenging my brain. And I’m a nerd.

Tell us three things most people don’t know about you…  1. I’m obsessed with reading. I’ve literally stayed up all night to finish books.  2. Even though I’m outwardly an extrovert, I need to recharge a lot and enjoy my alone time. . 3.  I use to sing a lot. It’s my secret hobby.

How do you want people to remember you?  That I was there.

Who is someone you admire, and why?   My mom, she was my pillar of strength and while she is no longer here, I still carry the lessons she taught me.

What advice would you give to recent new stylist?  Trust the process, while being new is scary. You will be a better stylist tomorrow, then you were yesterday. Learn from your mistakes and don’t dwell on them. No ones perfect and a year from now you will look back and think wow!

When I was 5, I was pretty sure I'd be a Astronaut when I grew up.

If you could pick one theme for The Hair Company to turn into a book about the company, what would  it be?  Touching lives, one head of hair at a time.  

If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve...... National veg out day. Where you do nothing but chill in your pjs and eat.

In another life, I'm pretty sure I was.....    A male lol, I’m the least girly hairstylist that ever was 

If we went to happy hour, what would you order.......    Well since I’m allergic to almost everything now, a vodka and water

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?   Australia 

When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?   March, when I went to Bike week   

Cats or Dogs?    DOGS 

What tv show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love?   Keeping up with the Kardashian’s    .

What places have you lived in?   Just southern MD   

What one food do you wish had zero calories?    All Mexican good  

What music is on your phone?  Everything, not just one genre   

What is your hidden talent?   Reading people   

What is your favorite sport or sports team?  Redskins for team. I love volleyball and wish I still had time for it.  

What is the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?  Sushi   

What is one thing you can't live without?  My family   

What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?   A house on the beach  

What is on your bucket list?  To travel

If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it? OR If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?   The life of a hotness mom. And I think Drew Barrymore could probably handle my role, although the chick from Big Bang theory sounds more like me   

If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?  1. Books , 2. Soap , 3. Clothes   

If you were an animal what would you be?  A chimpanzee, because they are brilliant    

Favorite travel spot?   The campground

Before working at The Hair Company, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?   I worked at a gas station, and I was a server.
